100MP - ENDLESS COLOUR AND DETAIL

Utilising a 100-megapixel medium format back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor with a native ISO of 64, the X2D 100C captures life in vivid colour and exquisite detail. Over 281 trillion colours are represented with the 16-bit colour depth. This immense dimension of colour paired with 15 stops of dynamic range allows the X2D 100C to capture the subtle intricacies of highlights and shadows as they are seen in the natural world.

The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) optimises colours to appear as authentically as the eye perceives them. Captured without any presets – artistic visions effortlessly come to life.

IBIS - KEEP MOMENTS SHARP

The X2D 100C features 5-axis 7-stop in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) to assist in capturing crisp handheld shots. To better control the size and weight of the X2D 100C, Hasselblad has built the most compact medium format IBIS solution on the market.3It meets the stringent requirements a 100-megapixel medium format sensor has for stabilisation while ensuring the light weight and portability of the camera.

RELIABLE HIGH-VOLUME STORAGE BUILT-IN

High-quality imaging demands considerable storage. A first for medium format cameras,3the X2D 100C features a built-in 1TB SSD with a write speed up to 2370MB/s, and a read speed up to 2850MB/s.5Although ample storage is built-in, additional space can be added using the CFexpress Type B card slot. Thanks to its high-speed storage performance, the X2D 100C is able to continuously shoot 16-bit RAW images in Continuous Drive Mode, providing a stable and reliable continuous shooting experience.

FAQ
What significant upgrades does the X2D 100C have compared to X1D II 50C?

As the latest generation of Hasselblad X System mirrorless medium format digital cameras, the flagship X2D 100C comes with a 100-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, powerful 15-stop dynamic range, and 16-bit colour depth, as well as a 5-axis 7-stop IBIS, PDAF technology, built-in 1TB SSD, CFexpress Type B card slot and a 5.76MP EVF offering 1.0x magnification. These advanced technologies combine to enhance image quality, focusing, stabilisation, responsiveness, and storage.

What is the difference between medium format and full-frame cameras?

The light-sensitive area on X System medium-format image sensors is 43.8 × 32.9 mm, approx. 70% larger than full-frame. This provides a higher resolution and larger light collection area resulting in richer details. In terms of optical design, medium format lenses also have a larger image circle than full-frame lenses and can deliver better optical performance.

Does the X2D 100C have stabilisation?

The X2D 100C is equipped with an in-house-developed IBIS system for medium format cameras that currently is the most compact in the industry.* It can detect camera movements down to 0.1-pixel. These movements can then be compensated for by employing the 5-axis 7-stop image stabilisation to make shooting more effortless in low-shutter-speed scenarios.

* Among interchangeable-lens mirrorless digital cameras with a 55mm-diameter CMOS sensor (according to a Hasselblad market survey on March 1, 2022).

Can I manually disable the stabilisation function on the X2D 100C?

Yes. You can manually enable or disable the stabilisation function in Camera Settings. When using a tripod, it is recommended to manually disable the stabilisation function. For more details, please refer to the X2D 100C User Manual.

When using lenses that require a lens adapter, will the stabilisation on the X2D 100C function normally?

Since the stabilisation structure is built into the camera body, the stabilisation will still function when using lenses that require a lens adapter. However, you will need to enter the focal length of the lens in Camera Settings. Stabilisation of the X2D 100C supports lenses up to 499mm.

How many photos can be stored on the built-in 1TB SSD?

When shooting solely in RAW, the X2D 100C can store approximately 4,600 photos. When shooting solely in JPG, it can store approximately 13,800 photos.

What functions are enabled with the X2D 100C’s Wi-Fi connection?

When the X2D 100C is connected to your iPad or iPhone* via Wi-Fi, Phocus Mobile 2 enables the transfer of full-size JPG/RAW images from the camera, allowing the editing and output of high-quality RAW images, fully taking advantage of Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Solution (HNCS).

* Compatible with iPad or iPhone X or later with internal storage of 3GB (RAM) or more and an operating system of iOS 15.0 or later.

What functions are enabled using the X2D 100C’s USB-C port?

The X2D 100C comes with a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port that supports a 10Gbps max. Transmission rate. You can connect to a PC/Mac/iPhone/iPad via this port with a cable. The USB-C port also supports PD 3.0 fast charging (30W) and is compatible with third-party PD 3.0 chargers, removing the need to carry multiple charging devices on the go.

What is the difference between Phocus/Phocus Mobile 2 and other image processing software?

Phocus and Phocus Mobile 2 are self-developed image processing software created by Hasselblad. When dealing with RAW images, you can fully utilise HNCS and have more flexibility in post-editing.

Is X1D/X1D II battery interchangeable with the X2D 100C battery?

Yes. They use the same battery model.

What is the battery life of the X2D 100C battery?

According to the CIPA standard, the camera can take 420 photos when fully charged. The actual operating time is subject to the use environment.

Does the X2D 100C battery support fast charging?

Yes. It supports PD 3.0 fast charging (30W) with the USB-C port. Other chargers supporting this protocol can also be used to fast charge (using a USB-C to USB-C cable).

Can I enter with images shot using a non-Hasselblad camera?

Yes. You can participate with shots taken by any digital or film camera, regardless of brand of frame size(excluding drones, smartphones, and tablet cameras.)

Can I enter with images shot using a non-Hasselblad camera?
